The boats built at LBS are truly pieces of functional art. The best party is you can stop in and watch the builder at work and ask questions about his craft. After you can take a tour and learn three history of the local wooden boat building industry. Tours are inexpensive and informative. This place is nothing liked your typical museum, it is much smaller and so much more personal.

Interesting, I learned how to row a dory boat here.

If you love boats, history, and working with your hands, Lowell's Boat Shop is a place you cannot miss for an incredible experience of building a small wooden boat. Grahm McCay and his crew are the best!
