If Stop & Shop wants to close at 8:00 PM, or 7:00 PM -- or whatever time they choose -- that's fine with me. However, if you are open until 9:00 PM -- be open until 9:00 PM.
Customer Service Closed at Stop & Shop!
I called before I went to inquire about availability (dollar limits) and pricing. I arrived prior to 8:00 PM (they close at 9:00 PM). I told the person behind the customer service counter I wanted to purchase a money order. An employee with a handful of keys who was in front of the counter asked me how I was going to pay. When I replied "cash" she said "the drawer is already closed" -- jargon that a customer is supposed to know I guess -- and said that I could use a debit card but couldn't use cash. This "key" employee then walked away.
I applied here online and got called in for an interview, I came a half hour early, dressed nice, and prepared. I got called in for my interview after a solid 25 minutes and before it even really started she asked my age. So I said 15 just like my application said and she told me it’s only 16 and up. So I basically wasted a ton of my time preparing just to get a 2 minute chat. Like if you can’t hire 15 and under then not only don’t make it an option for the online application, AND DONT WASTE MY TIME BY CALLING FOR AN INTERVIEW. The lady who interviewed me was very nice about it though.
The irony that this department is the "Customer Service" Department would be amusing were it not so completely Anti-Customer Service. SERVE your CUSTOMERS -- not the whims of an employee who wants to "close the drawer" over an hour before closing time.
I like shopping here, prices are high but not a run on the store like Market Basket. Produce is pretty good. Store is a little dated and cashiers do not have baggers so it takes a bit to go through checkout.
clean and nice, friendly and helpful customer service workers, easy self check out, love shopping here and can find mostly all you need.
I made a special trip to Stop & Shop Amesbury on Sunday to get a money order (I had already shopped for groceries).
Store is nice...good deals (on sale items)..otherwise a bit pricey... Bread lasts longer than other stores.... Fruits and vegetables are much better than other local store... Employees are great.. except one older female front end manager... Has horrible attitude.. treats customers and employees disrespectfully...i was overcharged$14.. she would return only $4....refused to let me show her on my receipt that she was wrong and was very rude.. pretty much told me to go pound sand... luckily the store asst. manager was there...she corrected it immediately cause it was very obvious with simple 3rd grade math and apologized profusely....called corporate.. Hopefully it will be dealt with.. should not be allowed to be around customers.
